27 X 15 X 1.5 IN. OIL PAINTING ON WOOD PANEL, GALLERY WRAPPED, EDGED PAINTED BLACK. A study in reflections and light, this painting exemplifies bokeh style photography at it’s finest, with depth of field focal plane and distance. The objects reflect the light, but also one another. This is decidedly a mood piece, and could enhance any living environment with it’s soft glow and warm colors. I personally love this piece, and think I’m underpricing it. But it’s for someone, and I can’t keep them all.

Stephen is Steven Curtis of the Madison area in Wisconsin. I didn't grow up here, but it's a great place to land. I grew up in the flat lands of the center of Illiniois, dominated by pollen from corn, beans, and dust. It was good for the imagination. I was an artist from childhood, and started work in photography in my early 20s, culminating in a degree in Film, and have managed a videography business. Central to all of these was composition. In cinema, it's known as "mise-en-scene", or arrangement. The challenge of that is that cinema moves, and has sound. It is multi-disciplinary. I have rerturned now later in life to the more pure forms of art in still representations, working in oil paints, primarily on wood panels. Artist Statement
My artist adventure is deeply rooted in the capture and preservation of beauty. This is a controversial point however since “beauty is fleeting”, but it’s also been posited that “beauty will save the world”. Not to mention that it is highly subjective, or so it seems. So I spend time searching out images and recreating beauty as I find it. That in turn has shaped my vision and stretched me personally in ways unexpected.
