Dust Over Ashes 20x20 2024, Oil and oil grassa on shaped canvas Dust Over Ashes unfolds across a softly curved surface, blurring the line between painting and object. The form itself bends gently outward, adding a sculptural presence that invites a slower, more tactile kind of looking. Rendered in a mix of oil and oil grassa, the surface glows with subtle shifts in warm neutrals, pierced by two arched, ember-like forms that feel carved into the canvas. These forms suggest both wounds and gateways—quiet reminders of what remains after disruption. This piece holds its tension in silence. It’s about memory, resilience, and the grace that can rise quietly from what’s been broken.

Artist Statement

My work is rooted in a subtle, layered abstraction that feels both grounded and ethereal. Some pieces lean into a restrained, almost monochromatic palette, while others open up into more complex fields of color and movement, always balancing chaos and control. I invite the viewer to slow down and reflect, looking beneath the surface, where the paintings carry a sense of internal narrative, a tension between fragility and resilience. The lin...
