Beckles centers the composition on a stark white field, where a tall, totemic form reads immediately as a constructed sign or figure. The surface is built from sharp-edged geometric components—rings, bars, and stacked rectangles—handled in glossy acrylic on plexiglass with high contrast black ground, electric blue, acid yellow, and copper-brown splatter. The paint handling joins hard-edged design with gestural drips and speckling, placing the work in conversation with Pop-inflected abstraction, postwar hard-edge painting, and the legacy of assemblage translated into a sleek contemporary finish.
