Silent Light

Silent Light is a 4 by 6-inch oil painting that explores the quiet presence of a dense forest at a moment when sunlight filters softly through tall pine trees. I worked primarily with a palette knife to build texture and depth, allowing the dark greens and blacks of the slender trunks to stand sharply against a warm background washed in pale yellow, light green, and soft orange. Shadows and subtle color reflections on the forest floor create a stillness that feels both grounded and alive. This piece grew from my time walking local trails, capturing how light shapes the space between trees and brings a calm intensity to the scene.
