Style:
The eye meets a deep black oval that fills the field and holds a constellation of angular forms, each one cut with sharp, faceted edges. Bright red diamond shapes sit against purple triangles spattered with cream and white, and the contrast between matte black space and dense speckled surfaces gives the painting a vivid, almost electric tension. Beckles builds the composition from repeated geometric fragments rather than a centered motif, so the work reads as a field of calibrated interruptions, aligned with geometric abstraction and the hard-edge traditions of postwar American painting.
