Style:
Beckles stages the composition as a vertical emblem against an unbroken white field, and the eye locks first onto the red circle at the top before descending through the stacked forms below. The surface is built from hard-edged geometry colliding with splattered, high-voltage passages of acrylic in neon green, electric blue, orange, yellow, and black, creating a charged contrast between control and improvisation. The thin black spine running through the center gives the work architectural clarity, while the round and triangular modules produce a totemic rhythm that reads as both figure and sign. The piece belongs to the lineage of hard-edge abstraction and postwar geometric painting, with the splash-driven handling bringing it into dialogue with action painting and later graphic abstraction.
