Beckles stages this work as a vertical totem, with a circular head, a narrow central shaft, and a square lower field that reads like a stacked emblem or engineered insect form. Acrylic on plexiglass gives the surface a hard gloss and saturated depth, so the neon greens, reds, pinks, golds, and blacks sit in sharp collision rather than dissolving into one another. The paint handling is aggressive and immediate: splatter, drip, pooling, and thick linear crossings build a charged skin across the transparent support. The composition belongs to the lineage of postwar abstraction and New York-based action painting, while its radiant color and hard-edged symmetry bring it into conversation with the graphic force of contemporary kinetic and psychedelic abstraction.
