Emerging is a small tempera painting, just 3 1/2 by 5 inches, that captures a moment of transformation through bold, fluid color. Vivid yellows, purples, reds, and oranges weave together across a textured surface, creating shapes that suggest continuous motion and energy. The thick layers of paint build depth and vitality, while the black border and white matting frame the composition with sharp contrast. This piece was inspired by witnessing the growth of young people close to me as they take shape into fuller versions of themselves.
