Cosmic Drift

Cosmic Drift is a 6 by 8 inch oil painting that explores the vastness of space through carefully layered textures and color. A deep black background sets the stage, punctuated by countless white stars that create a quiet rhythm across the canvas. Bright clouds of orange and blue move diagonally through the scene, adding depth and contrast without overpowering the composition. The planets, varied in size and surface detail, create a sense of distance and dimension, inviting a contemplative pause on the universe’s scale. In creating this piece, I worked by softly blending colors with my fingers, a technique that helped bring subtle depth and a tactile quality to the surface. This artwork captures the serene yet expansive nature of the cosmos, inviting reflection on the balance between stillness and movement in the night sky.
