30 X 30 X 2 IN. OIL PAINTING ON STRETCHED CANVAS, GALLERY WRAPPED, EDGED PAINTED BLACK. Rainy Day in what appears to be SanFran, although I cannot verify that. It could be any city USA, most likely Seattle, where I’ve heard it never stops raining. Well, it could be London for that matter. Honestly I don’t know. I was just after the feeling that I got from a photograph, and it worked. Makes for great decor in the dining room and a wonderful size that fits in many locations.

In cinema, it's known as "mise-en-scene", or arrangement. The challenge of that is that cinema moves, and has sound. It is multi-disciplinary. I have rerturned now later in life to the more pure forms of art in still representations, working in oil paints, primarily on wood panels. It was the wood panel that allowed me to finally conquer oil painting, as previous to 2013 I had never had success with it. The smooth surface of the wood panel allowed m...

This is a controversial point however since “beauty is fleeting”, but it’s also been posited that “beauty will save the world”. Not to mention that it is highly subjective, or so it seems. So I spend time searching out images and recreating beauty as I find it. That in turn has shaped my vision and stretched me personally in ways unexpected. There are many photos, both by others and myself, that have already done that work for me, and come “pre-packaged” as balanced works of art, and these are “finds” for me, a sig...
