Breaking Free

Breaking Free is a small tempera painting measuring just 2 1/2 by 2 1/2 inches, matted to a 5x5 inch frame. The composition centers on bold blue brushstrokes that fan diagonally from the lower right corner towards the upper left. These strokes carry a textured energy, set against a background of soft green and pale blue washes that offer a cool counterpoint. Framed with a wide white mat and a substantial black frame, the piece highlights the contrast and movement within the color.
