Beckles builds the image through high-voltage acrylic drips and splashes that hit the eye first in fluorescent yellow-green, electric blue, and hot red against a near-black field. The paint sits on plexiglass with a glossy, hard-edged finish that intensifies the chromatic contrast and sharpens every run, splatter, and pooled mark. At the center, a tapered triangular form gathers the most saturated color, giving the composition a strong axial spine while the surrounding barrage of gestural marks drives it outward into a layered, allover field. The work stands in conversation with postwar action painting, neon-inflected abstraction, and the raw optical energy of 1980s downtown New York painting.
