Artist Statement

My work is about presence. I am drawn to the quiet seconds before a storm breaks, the way light settles across frozen ground, and the feeling of standing alone in a wide, open landscape. Growing up in northern Maine shaped the way I see the world — slow, patient, attentive to change. Photography allows me to document fleeting atmospheres that often go unnoticed. I am especially interested in transitional moments: before snowfall, after dusk, along waterlines, at the edge of shadow. These spaces hold tension and softness at the same time.
