Frozen Light captures fleeting winter forms transformed by reflection and illumination. Suspended icicles become abstract figures, revealing quiet beauty, balance, and impermanence where ice and light briefly meet.

Williams places a single vertical icicle in the center of the frame and turns it into a translucent axis against a winter sunset. The image is built from pale blue sky, warm apricot light, slate-gray cloud banks, and the dark silhouettes of roofs and conifers, with the snow below holding the composition in a cool, matte base. The soft focus on the icicle contrasts with the crisp line of the horizon, giving the photograph a hovering, meditative instability that recalls contemporary atmospheric landscape photography and the lyrical edge of pictorialism. Light does the structural work here: it gilds the clouds, dissolves detail, and makes the frozen form read as both object and abstraction.
